The Department of Transportation (DOT) mandates that commercial vehicle drivers pass a physical examination that is performed by licensed medical examiner who is certified to do DOT Physical Examinations. In order to receive your Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) it is mandatory that you pass a DOT Physical Examination.

Remember, Federal guidelines require your DOT Physical is performed every two years for a commercial driver’s license to be renewed. The time between DOT Physicals can be shorter than two years if you have a medical condition that requires regular monitoring.
